The 2013 Deeside Thistle Knockburn Cyclo-Cross - SCX Series 2013 race is again hosted at the superb, purpose built Knockburn activities centre. Newly built facilities include changing room, showers and toilets. The course itself is on the purpose laid cyclocross trails around the centre and man-made loch. There will also be onsite bike wash and catering van.
Online entry for the Deeside Thistle Ridley Scottish Cyclocross Series Event at Knockburn Loch on November 3rd closes this weekend. In order to facilitate ordering timing chips. there will only be a small number of entries available on the day, but these will be issued on a first come, first served basis and may be used up in the U8's and U12's events. If you are planning on entering, online entry will guarantee you a start and helps us immensely. We are expecting around 200 riders, and have 175 already pre-registered.
As well as support from club sponsors MPH, Taqa, Stena Drilling and Norco, we have additional prize funding and support from Alpine Bikes and Alan Grant Construction.
We are also looking for helpers at sign on, around the start and finish and to help with car parking and traffic control. A great day out, as this blog post by a volunteer at the Ridley Scottish Cyclocross Series Event in Auchntoshan shows.
If you can spare some time on Sunday 3rd November to help out, drop us a line at email@example.com.

A British Cycling race licence is required to compete, please bring this for sign on. If you do not have a BC race licence, you can purchase a day licence on the day for £3.
Please get to sign-on in plenty of time. Sign-on will close promptly 20 minutes before each race start time. This is to enable full start sheets to be passed to the commissaries and PA announcer.
You will not be allowed to practice on the course unless signed-on.
Helmets must be worn at all times on the course.
Event address: Knockburn Loch, Strachan, Banchory, AB31 6LL

Cash prizes will be awarded for all categories with goodie bags for the under 12’s.
Ample car parking is provided at the venue. However access to enter and leave the site will be restricted whilst riders are competing. This is due to the crossing of the race course over the access road and will be strictly enforced.
Drivers wishing to leave the site during races should move their cars from the car park to the end of the access road before the next race commences.
